An Australian Photographic and Story-Telling Project that brings the Post Partum Woman into focus.

An invitation for a mother to be with her story, to see her changed body & self through the lens of beauty and recognise who she has become.

To be seen is to be heard.

About The Project

The idea of The Post Partum Visibility Project came to me when I was in the thick of struggles around my changed body post partum.

After a difficult pregnancy with Hyperemesis and a first birth that left my mind & body with trauma to process, looking in the mirror, or simply waking up in a body that felt foreign, bigger, expanded and different from who I had known myself to be, was jarring.

Pregnant for the second time, I met my beautiful Sister and friend Anika, Founder of Mini Moments, after being put in touch with her through a mutual friend.

From the moment we met, it was like we were transported back in time. Just 2 young girls making our way to the beach in the dark for a sunrise photo shoot. Swimming in the water while pregnant with my second daughter. Laughter, shared stories around pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

The unconditional love & light that Sisterhood brings. Genuine conversations, resonance and relatability, sprinkled with so much fun and joy.

The powerful shift that occurred when I saw myself through Anika’s lens. She reflected back versions of myself that made me see myself in my motherhood as beautiful, powerful, strong, capable, honoured and seen.

I wanted women to feel this in their post partum, and so this begins with an invitation.

An invitation to consider seeing yourself in your post partum.

Not just your body, but your mind and soul.

To see your strength, to honour your capability and leave room to be in touch with your own evolution.
